Barb, I have an adorable white/tan grandrat named Rupert and I LOVE him! Of course, I have to use benadryl after I kiss him, but he is wonderful!

I love all your ideas. I have seen boats and even large pots tipped on their side and flowers spilling out like water. Beautiful effect.

on the boating idea...my sister uses hers for her compost pile...she puts everythign in there and has a nice supply of worms too. she "transplants her worms" to other parts of the garden when they get too thick. She turns the pile every so often and it makes great soil for potting, etc or just putting in the veggie garden. Another idea is to fill it with bromiliads or any one kind flower to make a huge statement.

OLD BOATS: Melanie, you've got some great garden items! Here in the Pacific Northwest people love to use old boats in their landscaping. What they do is dig a trench the shape of the boat and sink it part of the boat into the ground, tipped. One side up and one side dipping down to the ground, like it's riding a wave, not to severe just a gentle wave. Then they backfill around it to support it, fill it with good compost and plant flowers in it. You might want to drill holes in the side so you have good drainage.

Ronald...I'm loving this! We've used reverse psychology on our girls that we want grandkids and so far they refuse to even consider marriage much less entertain the idea of kids. Which is the master plan for NOW...and in a couple of years, I'll be switching the 'line' to...whatever you do, don't marry and have any kids, they'll just eat up your hard-earned profits...THEN maybe we'll wind up with good son'n'laws and a ton of grandbabies to spoil to no end! :D

I've uncovered 2 old boats in the woods behind our house. One is a jon boat, another is a bass fishing boat (small, about 8-10')....any ideas on what to do with them and incorporate them into the landscaping? It won't be in front of our house, but on the side in the cove area. :)
